A fantastic weekend for all at WSID, surprisingly we had no rain. Saturday saw a very windy cold day for all but we were still able to have our three qualifiers. With a very stout field of ten cars Jason Stares in his 615cc 63 Chev Corvette took top qualifier with 7.697 @ 177.88 However not so good for Darryl Steven's Ford Probe which had converter issues and Gary Halpin in his Datsun Coupe which tore a slick on his guard. So both cars were on there way home.
Sunday saw only six cars remaining as John Habib in his Holden Torana didn't show up. Which was good for the rest of top sportsman as it meant they were able two have not only one more qualifier today but two. Once again Frank Fenech cut a 0.000 light.

The first Top Sportsman meeting was scheduled to be held last Sunday at WSID, & having it on the same weekend as Bathurst, was going to be a big challenge. But forget about going round & round, the impact of low 8 sec cars, racing against low 7 sec cars took the chequered flag laps ahead of any touring cars. The interest shown for the first meeting, was way more than we ever expected, with the entrants totalling well into the 20's.

Bill stated the reason for having to have a second meeting so soon was there were a lot of people complaining via phone calls, emails and internet forums about the rules that were decided on at the end of the first meeting, and it is very disappointing that none of these complaining people never made any effort to attend or sign up via email to have there say on the proposed class.
Bill then handed to Tristan to discuss the rules decided on at the first meeting and results of ballot papers on the night. The following was then decided on as results of all ballot papers and votes.
